Today, 8 September, the Raipon first vice-president Rodion Sulyandziga met with Mrs. Lene Espersen the Danish minister for foreign affairs. The meeting organized during the official visit of Queen of Denmark Margarethe II with her family to Moscow.

In Syktyvkar kindergarten opens the group that uses the Komi language only in communication with children. The parents chose the kindergarten because it uses the unique Finish “Language nest” technology to teach children the Komi language. All stuff there use Komi in communication only and try to speak with Russian speaking parents in the absence of the kids.

Every fall the traditional Sami games organized in Murmansk region. Sami games promote the culture of the indigenous Sami people and support indigenous sport in the region. This fall the lasso competitions, Sami female soccer, jumps over sleds, crossbow shooting, traditional fishing. Sami teams from Kola, Lovozero and Murmansk will participate the games.

At the end of August Natalia Komarova the governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (Ugra) discussed the regions tourism prospects with representatives of the indigenous communities and local tour operators.

The head of the region met with indigenous representatives and visited ethnographic facility "Silava". At the meeting the governor and other participants discussed the initiatives of the regional government on tourism.

Lars Miguel Utsi the manager of "Indigenous Entrepreneurship» project (Indigee) has visited Nenets Autonomous okrug in late August.

During short but fruitful visit he in cooperation with regional project coordinator Feodor Kanev and business consultant Jury Tyulyubaev adopted the exact date and place of the III-rd International Conference Indigee in Naryan-Mar this year.

21-24 September 2011 Arkhangelsk will host the II International Arctic Forum "The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue". Forum will organized by Russian Geographical Society (RGS).

Russian Geographical Society was founded by the Russian emperor Nicholas I in 1845. The main purpose of the RGS activity was the collection of geographical information about Russia. Along with publishing and education activity the main task of the RGS was organization of the field expeditions in Russia and all other the world.
