On behalf of 6 organizations, Permanent Participants to the Arctic Council, representing the indigenous peoples of circumpolar region, we have a great honor to invite you to participate in the V Arctic Leaders Summit in Moscow, 14-15 April 2010.

Summit is a highest forum of Permanent Participants to discuss the issues of sustainable development of the Arctic and indigenous peoples’ prospects. Each Summit has a specific theme and develops concrete recommendations for the Arctic states and other stakeholders.

The Summit 2010 theme is “Industrial development in the Arctic under new climate change conditions”. The participants will bring their experience and knowledge, make analysis and share practices, develop a joint position and recommendations regarding the topic given.

The Summit will be attended by the officials of the Arctic States, Arctic Council and its Working Groups, UN agencies, international financial institutions, business, academia and expert organizations.

Russian Association of indigenous peoples of the North (RAIPON) will be a hosting organization in a partnership with the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
